WRAL: Local event supports moms on an infertility journey
Stephanie Llorente, owner of Restored, is a regular contributor to the WRAL-TV Go Ask Mom blog where she writes about relevant topics for working moms. We repost that content here.
Three local organizations are partnering to host Hope While Waiting: An Infertility Expo. CharleyMadelyn, Thrive Motherhood and Restored for Moms joined forces to create the expo in an effort to help overwhelmed women across the Triangle receive the information and resources they need on their infertility journey. It takes place Oct. 6 at Blush Cowork in Cary from 6 to 9 p.m.
The event is the brainchild of Chelsea Jennette, owner of faith and fashion boutique CharleyMadelyn, and someone who has experienced the heartache of infertility firsthand.
“Infertility can be such an isolating, lonely journey for women,” said Jennette. “But it doesn’t have to be. There’s a lot of information to digest, cost to consider and health concerns to navigate, and my own experience with infertility has taught me that that securing the right information in a safe, supportive community can help ease a heavy burden.”
Attendees will hear from a moderated panel that includes an infertility specialist, a counselor and women who can share their own insights and experiences. All will be treated to light appetizers, sweet treats and have an opportunity to engage with vendors before and after the panel. And, since the cost of infertility treatment can add up quickly, the event is free for women to attend.
“Our collective goal is to support other women as they explore their own fertility options without additional financial stress,” shared Jennette.
