Prioritization for Busy Moms with Kelly Shiley

If there is one word that sums up how a busy working mother gets things done, it’s this: prioritization.

Even though we may want to do all the things – or even just part of the things! – full calendars, sick kids, travel, sports, homework, deadlines and so many other tasks dictate what takes priority and what doesn’t. At times, it can seem as if we’re stuck in this never-ending cycle of managing the squeakiest wheel. And, at the end of the day, our “prioritization” looks a lot like keeping our head above water and making it to the end of the work week rather than moving with intentionality and diligence toward pre-determined priorities.

We absolutely have the ability to be good moms, wives and workers, but we can’t do it all at the same time, which means that if we want to experience success at any of those really important things, we must figure out how to prioritize well. But how? How do we press on with the work we love while still honoring our role as an attentive wife and an involved mother? These were clear areas of concern among working moms when we conducted our most recent Restored survey.

So, we phoned a friend for this one and invited Kelly Shiley, CEO of Mary Square, to lead a conversation on prioritization Wed., Feb. 19. Kelly is married, has three kids in three different schools, runs Mary Square, CAUS and Michelle McDowell, and employs teams of people internationally. She travels stateside frequently and jets off to China multiple times a year. Not to mention, she’s grown an idea into a multi-million-dollar company. So, yeah, she’s busy - and prioritization is non-negotiable. While Kelly doesn’t claim to have a magic prioritization pill, she does have a lot to share, and we would love for you and your friends to hear it!

We would LOVE for you to join our Restored community of moms for yummy coffee at Thanks A Latte as Kelly shares about the delicate balance of marriage, motherhood and management based on her own experiences. Need more details? Click here, and we’ll see you soon!
